Fuel water separator assembly with hand fuel priming pump and isolation valves. A liquid filled vaccum gage is mounted on the outlet side to indicate actual suction lift being presented at the associated emergency diesel generator engine.Caterpillar 3516 emergency generator installation with supporting UL142 compliant double contained fuel daytank at a San Francisco Bay Area data center.

Data Center Standby Power—one of 6 paralleling generators—note the daytank and fuel water separators to the left of the skid.

UL142 compliant daytank assembly with secondary containment within an Oakland data center.

220 gallon complete daytank assembly with supply and return  pumps, fuel-water separator assembly mounted to the side of the rupture basin.

UL listed diesel fuel daytank assembly supporting an emergency generator installation at a San Francisco telecommunications facility. Fuel cooler assembly mounted above tank- any leaks will be contained by the secondary containment.UL 2085 listed emergency generator base tank as received from the supplier. The engine skid and acoustical housing will be built on top of this base.

UL listed daytank assembly with secondary containment –rupture basin– many times, this type of configuration is preferred as it will contain any piping leaks on the tank top interfaces.

Note the fuel cooler on the top left—this device removes engine added heat from the fuel ‘return’ line.

Racor fuel water separator assembly and hand priming pump. Each separator is rated at 30 micron and can be replaced while the engine is in operation. The hand pump provide a easy, ready way to re-establish fuel prime—a big time saver, should it ever be needed. Also note—the epoxy coated floor below provides secondary containment for any spills– see the curb along the wall base for fluid containment? Finally, compound vacuum/pressure gages allow confirmation that the filters are not dirty and that the engine fuel supply is unrestricted.

UL 2085 listed, double contained fuel base tank. This base tank eventually becomes part of the generator module shown below.

Super quiet emergency-standby diesel generator module during construction. Complete module will support a San Francisco area telecommunications facility.

Diesel generator module with double contained, UL2085 compliant base tank.

Daytank eliminator - this device can often be used in lieu of a daytank for diesel generators.

DAYTANK ELIMINATOR

For those installations where there’s no space for a daytank, one can install a Daytank Eliminator. This small subsystem uses the engine as a primary driver for a high lift pump– battery operated priming pump and fuel cup is also included.

Installed Daytank Eliminator- this system is installed on a small Cummins standby generator supporting a Northern California telecommunications facility.
