Sound Attenuated Diesel Generator

Modules and Enclosures

 Custom Designed and Built

——Quiet Generators built to order—-

300 kW Caterpillar Sound Attenuated Diesel Generator Module,

with aluminum double seal door frames, galvanized steel skin, AMCA certified inlet air louvers, stainless exposed exhaust stack with rainproof stainless thimble to allow leak free roof penetration.

Diesel Generator  Sound Attenuated Modules and Enclosures-Quality Matters!

A few features to consider:

· Enclosure skin– ensure that the material you select is conducive to the installation environment– painted mild steel will start rusting with any paint chip. Galvanized steel often offers the best quality to cost compromise. Stainless steel provides premium longevity but very high cost. Aluminum provides good corrosion resistance but has high cost and is more prone to damage than stainless.

· Enclosure roof—make sure you specify a pitched roof to prevent rain puddling and subsequent corrosion failure.

· Ventilation openings– a simple screen opening may provide low cost, but will likely allow rain intrusion. Specifying AMCA certified louvers will provide reliable openings that prevent rain intrusion and block vermin and debris. A good rule of thumb is to allow a minimum of 1 square foot of free opening per 1000 ft3 of ventilation/cooling air.

We design and build super quiet diesel generator modules and engine rooms within existing buildings. We can provide an acoustical study demonstrating anticipated sound levels at the property line– this is especially useful when attempting to get a building permit for an engine installation in a sensitive area.

We’ll guarantee the operating sound level, in writing, to the level that you require. Diesel generator installations or modules providing less than 50 dBA 6 feet from the installation have been installed. We can build a super quiet  generator for you!

Notice the vacuum gage on the right of the assembly to allow the operator to confirm that the fuel suction pressure is within the  CAT allowable limits.

750 kW Caterpillar, above ,generator main breaker assembly, designed and built at our shop. Notice the two hole busbar landings at the bottom of the breaker– this prevents the cable lugs from turning and potentially loosening.

750 kW Caterpillar, left , engine generator control panel. This panel is equipped with an alarm annunciator that utilizes ‘first out’ detection...that is, whatever alarm occurs first will be indicated with a unique flashing rate. This in turn allows the operator to more quickly determine what fault condition may have caused a shut down– very handy for troubleshooting!
